Response to unsolicited apeal for funds
##Although it is a fundementally good cause at the end of the day##
##So giv'em some money##

Sir,

I cannot help but feel let down by your recent correspondence regarding 'donkey adoption'.

I find it curious that you, one of my longest acquaintances would commit against me such a heinously insulting gesture. I feel compelled to highlight here the two 'prongs' of you clearly malicious attack.

1) What with the media attention a person of my standing inevitably attracts, it is an abhorrent abuse of my trust to call on me to support or endorse any such "charities" of "good causes". Shame on you.

2) Until that little incident with the mule, the tequila, and the Argentinean goat herder is resolved, I think it probably best I do not 'associate' myself with any animals - for the good or bad. I can see (such is the wisdom of old age) that the "donkey adoption" and the current "too familiar with a mule" themes would make the boys on Fleet Street have an absolute field day. I think I've said more than enough already. I find your flagrant insensitivity to my some-what sensitive situation in this regard despicable. Shame on you.

I have taken the time to draw out these issue in the full so we can move beyond this and, given time, 'deal' with this tragic misjudgement on your part. I do not believe, for even one moment, that you were not aware of all of this as you sent me the demand to 'care' for 'Mr Crusty'.

Consider yourself in deep trouble over this gaff. Only the personal courage of my good self will salvage this particular travesty from he chasm which festers beneath polite society.

Regards

E Wyte esq.
